To Sum It Up...

This week, we learnt many things on the computer. Here's a re-cap. First, we discussed about whether technology is beneficial in learning and most people agreed that technology is indeed a pro and not a con as it is easier to access and is quicker. Next, we discussed the topic- Pros and Cons of Blogging. We learnt what precautions to take when blogging so we wouldn't atrract any unwanted attention and the advantages and disadvantages of maintaining a blog. After that, we learnt that in true fact social networking plays an important role in helping the environment. And we learnt more on the Xbox Kinect that actually allows you to be the controller to control it. Then, we dicussed if technology was dependable. Following that, we discussed whether work should be assigned on computers or not. To end the week, we discussed on cyber bullying and learnt how to overcome cyber bullying.
Here is to conclude the whole of this week. Please check out all the posts if you haven't and feel free to comment on them.

  1. Weekly Review...
We have been discussing about how great technology is for this entire week! Ironically, I faced some problems logging into blog account to post the weekly review:( Thus, I decided to post my weekly review under comments. Well, it seems like technology isn't all that wonderful...
At the start of the week, Jean gave all f us a question to think about: Is technology benefical in learning? This is a very subjective question as there are many pros and cons in using technology in learning. Well, Rabia has also raised a very good question that is very much linked to Jean's question. One way that technology has helped in our learning is teachers assigning work on computers. Many of the times, people point out the fact that while doing work on the computer, students would be unable to give their undivided attention to their work. However, I disagree. I think that evey student should be responsible in their own learning. Earlier on in the week, I have also talked about pros & cons of blogging. As I have mentioned, if you want to fin out whether blogging is a pro or con for you, you have to try blogging! Only you yourself know what is best for youself.
    Pros of technology:
    Example- The Xbox kinect technology
Save natural resourses. E.g. Assigning work online saves paper which is made of trees.
    Cons of technology:
Our laptops would break down when they feel like it.
    Cyber Bullying
Even though I put cyber bullying as a con of teachonlogy, cyber bullying can always be prevented. E.g. Schools are currently conducting cyber wellness talks for students.
I have a question for everyone & anyone who thinks that technology is not useful. "If you think that technology is not useful, then why are you even staring at your computer screen right now?!"
